Summerfield, NC - When Purgason’s owner Cinda
Whicker heard about the Summerfield Youth Council fund raiser, the “Just for the
fun of it!” Horse Show, she thought that it was such a good idea that Purgason’s
became the first sponsor for the event. Her enthusiasm got the Youth Council’s
Horse Show off to a great start.
“These members of the Youth Council are our future. They
represent our leaders and consumers. This project allows so many of us to
participate in support of young people who want to be responsible. I can’t say
enough about that.” Whicker stated.
Purgason’s is a respected and widely known equestrian
outfitter specializing in western wear and horse tack merchandise in North
Carolina. They have long time relationships with Wrangler, Justin Boots, Stetson
and other popular brands.
“We are looking for fun stuff to go with our sponsorship
of the SYC Horse Show. Our clients and anyone interested in what will be
happening should check our website
www.purgasons.com. In addition we
will post coupons that they can redeem for gifts from the store. Some of these
items will be very limited so we encourage people to download and print the
coupons and get into the store quickly as we expect a great reaction. Some
items will only be available the day of the Horse Show. All items will be first
come first served.” Explained Whicker.
The Horse Show is the brainstorm of Community Relations
Chair Tammy Welborn and is being well received among the horse enthusiasts of NW
Guilford County. Along with Purgason’s, Renee Wiedel has donated Steeplehill
Farm to host the event. Since Purgason’s
involvement Wrangler has also signed on as a sponsor of the event. Additional
sponsors are signing on daily.
“The purpose of this Horse Show is to call attention to
the Summerfield Youth Council and to encourage anyone from the ages of 8-18 to
get involved. This fund raiser will help the SYC raise money for their charity
projects.” Stated Welborn.
The “Just for the fun of it! Horse Show is on Oct 23rd
from 10 am to 4 pm. Contact Purgason’s at 643-5353 should you wish to
participate in the Parade of Breed or the Costume Contest and equestrian
demonstrations. Gary Houston will take the contest winners photos and each
winner will receive a 5x7 print as a gift. Check
